Quality Control & Assurance
Multi-stage quality protocols ensuring every shipment meets international standards.
Quality is the foundation of everything we do at Jit Aree Vegetable Oil. Our multi-stage quality control protocols cover every critical point in the edible oil refining and export process — from crude oil intake through final pre-shipment inspection. Each batch is sampled, analyzed, documented, and verified before release, ensuring our partners receive edible oils that consistently meet or exceed international benchmarks for FFA, color, moisture, purity, and safety.
Quality Control Checkpoints
Ten critical quality control stages ensure oil integrity from raw material intake to final export shipment.
Incoming Raw Material Inspection
All incoming crude oils and oilseeds are sampled and tested at the point of receipt. FFA, moisture, impurity content, and color are analyzed before acceptance into storage.
FFA titration, Karl Fischer moisture, impurity by filtration, Lovibond color; lots exceeding thresholds rejected or downgraded
Free Fatty Acid (FFA) Testing
FFA is the most critical quality parameter for edible oils, directly indicating freshness and refining quality. We test FFA at every processing stage and on every finished batch.
Titration method per AOCS Ca 5a-40; target ≤0.05% for refined oils, ≤5.0% for crude intake; tested at each refining stage
Moisture & Volatile Matter
Excess moisture promotes hydrolysis and microbial growth, degrading oil quality during storage and transit. We maintain strict moisture limits tested on every batch before packaging.
Karl Fischer titration per AOCS Ca 2e-84; target ≤0.05% for refined oils; hot plate method for crude intake screening
Color Analysis (Lovibond)
Oil color is a key visual quality indicator and reflects the effectiveness of bleaching. We use Lovibond tintometers to measure red and yellow color values on every production batch.
Lovibond tintometer per AOCS Cc 13e-92; typical targets: R ≤1.5, Y ≤15 for refined sunflower; specifications vary by oil type
Peroxide Value & Oxidative Stability
Peroxide value measures primary oxidation and is a direct indicator of oil freshness and shelf life potential. We test every batch to ensure oils are well within safe limits.
Titration per AOCS Cd 8b-90; target ≤2.0 meq/kg for fresh refined oils; Rancimat stability testing for shelf life prediction
Fatty Acid Composition (GC-FID)
Gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC-FID) is used to verify the fatty acid profile of every oil, confirming authenticity and detecting any adulteration or blending.
GC-FID per AOCS Ce 1-62; full C8–C24 profile; cross-referenced against Codex Alimentarius standards for each oil type
Purity & Adulteration Screening
Every batch is screened for potential adulteration with cheaper oils. GC-FID profiling and, where required, sterol analysis confirm that the oil is pure and matches its declared type.
Fatty acid profile matching, sterol composition per AOCS Ch 6-91, Bellier test for groundnut oil; zero tolerance for undeclared blending
Filtration & Clarity Check
Refined oils pass through polishing filters to remove any remaining particulates. Filtered oil is checked for clarity, brilliance, and absence of suspended matter before packaging.
Pressure leaf and cartridge filtration; visual clarity assessment; turbidity <25 NTU for refined grades; cold test where applicable
Microbiological & Contaminant Testing
Oils destined for food use must meet strict safety standards. We test for heavy metals, PAH, aflatoxins, and pesticide residues in our laboratory and through accredited external labs.
Heavy metals (Pb, As, Cd) per AAS; aflatoxins per HPLC; pesticide residue screening per EU MRL limits; 3-MCPD and glycidyl esters monitoring
Pre-Shipment Inspection
Independent third-party inspection by SGS or equivalent is available before every export shipment. The inspection covers product quality, packaging condition, container suitability, and document verification.
AQL sampling, weight verification, container cleanliness and dryness, seal integrity, photo documentation, COA cross-check
